1. What is shared Web hosting/Virtual hosting? top..
Shared hosting/Virtual hosting means that you share the server resources with many other customers. We limit the number of websites in our servers at 200 sites/server to maintain optimal server performance. We monitor our shared server vigorously to ensure that no one abuses the server’s resources. |

2. Is 200 sites per server a lot? top..
Basically it all depends on the hardware of the server. We use only top quality servers that can handle a lot of traffic. We stress test our servers before putting it on the shelf for real hosting. Lets put it this way, if we want to jam 1000 sites like some other web hosting companies do, we are able to do it. However we choose not to take that venue to ensure quality hosting in Wowrack. |

3. What domain name should I choose? top..
You should choose a domain name that is related to your site. You should also choose a name that is easy to remember. This will enable your customer or friends to remember your domain name. |

4. What is data transfer? top..
In general, any outward-bound traffic from a web site, with the exception of e-mail, is considered to be data transfer. For example, each time a web page, image, midi file, quick time video, etc. is loaded, data transfer is generated. Each of our plans includes a generous amount of free data transfer, which should be more than enough for most sites. In fact, 98% to 99% of our customers operate within their free data transfer allowance. Additional data transfer beyond the threshold will incur a small charge. |

5. What is disk storage space? top..
Disk storage space refers to the amount of server disk storage specifically allocated to your account. This space is used to store your html files, graphics, audio clips, POP mail messages, pdfs, and other files that make up your web site. Each of our plans includes a specified allotment of disk storage space, but additional space can be purchased for any account in 5MB blocks. 7. Does Wowrack provides control panel? top..
All users have access to a web-based control panel that allows you to set mail forwarding options, enable/disable anonymous FTP access, view your statistics, change your password and more. It also allows access to other features such as an HTML Form Generator, web-based HTML editor and Perl script checker. |

8. Can I create my own “404 not found” error page? top..
Yes you can. You can give notification to your viewer in the 404 not found page to notify them that they have typed in an invalid address or you may also redirect them to another page in the case that they type the wrong address. |

9. Does customer get CGI script support? top..
All customers have access to a personal cgi-local directory in which you can place your own custom CGI scripts. Wowrack provide some free scripts that customers may use or customer can also browse the web for free pre-written scripts that they can install in their web site. |

10. Do you support Frontpage extension? top..
We support FP extension. However Wowrack does not give technical support for the frontpage web creation. This means that if you need to know certain things like how to put a picture in your website, you will need to contact Microsoft. |

11. What is site statistic? top..
Site statistic is a term used to describe a program that gives out reports regarding the site’s activity. We currently use software like Webtrends and deepmetrix for our customer’s site statistic needs. |

12. How can I check my site statistics? top..
Once you are set up with site statistics program, we will e-mail you the address that you can go to view your site statistics. |

13. What is the difference between Virtual IP and Static IP address? top..
Virtual IP address is an IP address that is shared between multiple webhosters. A static IP address is an IP address that is assigned exclusively for your use. The advantages of having static IP address compared to Virtual IP address are:
- Immediate access to webserver, email server and ftp server through IP address. You won't need to wait for DNS propagation to access your web site.
- Website can be accessed with IP address for testing purposes before bringing the website to production status.
There are no performance loss or gain by having virtual or static IP address. |
